Healing Garden, East Tennessee Children's Hospital
The Children's Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee knows children need more than medicine to get well.
They know that the environment can speed the healing process.
Above all, they know that kids just want to be kids.
In 2015, Marga Hayes McBride completeda major art installation in the new courtyard.
The area is adjacent to the Hematology/Oncology clinic, and is surrounded on three sides by inpatient rooms.
The new courtyard was built with kids in mind. The colorful designs lets patients' imaginations run wild.
An esthetically pleasing environment allows parents an outdoor space to enjoy, and since the area can be seen
by many of the patient rooms, it is a focal point and beacon of hope for all who visit Children's Hospital.

Knoxville Convention Center Collection
The "Windows on to East Tennessee" is a four-part piece depicting the four seasons experienced in our beautiful
part of the state. It is part of the permanent collection of the City of Knoxville that is housed in the
Knoxville Convention Center, at World's Fair Park in downtown. The piece is a mixed media work of oil painting,
wood, and glazed ceramic and was featured on The Home & Garden Network in its inception at my studio.
